There's something about the power that we have as a woman. We are seen as invincible and the back bone to our families and our communities.
This week I wanted to shed a light on Olympic Gold Medalists Allyson Felix.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, California and graduate of the University of Southern California in Elementary Education. Felix is more than your average athlete. With the championships and Olympic golds under her belt she is exactly what young girls and other women strive to be. She's a member of Barack Obama's council for fitness and has traveled internationally to improve the lives and communities of those interested in the fitness world.
As of September 29, 2019, Felix broke Usain Bolt's World Championship record after winning her 12th World Title. Now whilst this is an amazing accomplishment on its own. What really has the world shaking is that Felix just finished giving birth 10 months ago!! Felix lost her sponsorship with Nike due to their maternity policies. Losing that sponsorship didn't stop her, she landed an incredible sponsorship with the parent company of Gap, Inc. , named Athleta! She is officially the first athlete sponsored by the brand.
Allyson Felix embodies every attribute and showcases the true meaning behind the ideals of "women can do it all"! She is more than deserving of this spotlight and just like the rest of the world, we can't wait to see what new records she is setting off to break!
