The best feeling comes from within right? However, that doesn't mean your outer appearance can't make you feel just as bomb! Healthy, radiant skin and hair are things we all want, and break our pockets to achieve. But, without a healthy care routine, you risk dry, dull skin or dry, breakable hair. Now, we know taking care of your hair and skin is an ongoing commitment, but it looks like we're quarantining all 2020 ladies, so we got the time. So, let's break down some inexpensive and fun beauty tips and hacks.


STEAMING

The benefit of steaming is that it opens up your pores and flushes out impurities. You can do this while in the shower, boil a pot of water, or buy a humidifier for as low as $25 dollars on Amazon. Doing this hack is very refreshing, and for that extra spa feeling, try adding essential oils or herbs (2-3 drops) if you decide to do the boiling water route.










RICE WATER


Rice water is a great beauty hack to improve the condition of hair and promotes hair growth. You can even use it on your skin as it helps treats acne. thread carefully though, the small has a strong sour smell, but results are worth it. You will need 1 cup of rice and 1 cup of water. Rinse and strain you water to remove any dirt that you don't want applied to your skin/hair. After, mix the rice in a bowl with water until the water is cloudy. Finally, strain the rice

Save it to cook. Let the water sit at room temperature for 12-24 hours, pour in spray bottle,

and Voila; your rice water is made. (Refrigerate for multiple uses)


FACE MASK


Face mask has become trendy as of late, which isn't surprising

because the results of using it are great. Charcoal face mask are most popular

because helps with improving your complexion and fighting acne, while also removing

trapped in dirt and bacteria. For best results, use once or twice a week, and let sit

for 15-20 minutes before washing off.

















DIY HAIR MASK


Do it yourself hair mask are great because it saves money and is all natural, literally can grab the ingredients straight from your kitchen. Common issues the black women come across with their hair are dryness, and damage/breakage. The best type of DIY hair mask to treat these problems is a honey,egg, apple cider vinegar and avocado mask. The ingredients include 1 teaspoon of honey, 1 egg, 1 tablespoon of ACV and a half avocado. Combine in a small bowl, you can double or half the recipe depending on hair length. Leave it on for 30-40 minutes before rinsing. This works for all hair types.




Toner


Applying toner to your face after you wash it is an important step. It restores your skin's natural pH balance and creates a smooth, fresh looking appearance. It also cleans deep down to help prevent blackhead and reduce size of your pores. Some great toners are Thayers Rose Petal Witch Hazel toner and Garnier SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water.



Moisturizer

Whether you have oily, dry, or something in between skin, moisturizing is essential. It's vital to improving and maintaining the way your skin looks and feels. It helps your skin hold in moisture and reduces the appearance of rough, dry or cracked skin. This is the last step after washing your face and applying toner. Some great moisturizers include: Ambi fade cream, e.l.f daily hydration moisturizer and Olay Total Effects 7 in 1 day cream.



EAT FAT


Healthy skin doesn't just come from cleaners and moisturizers, it also comes from a diet with "good for you fats." Good fats promote glowing skin and hair, and it can be as small and easy as throwing some flaxseed/coconut oil in your smoothie, adding nuts or avocado on your salad, or cooking your veggies in extra virgin olive oil. Consuming too many bad fats are known to age your skin and increase inflammation.



TEA TREE OIL


Ladies, throw out those wipes and vaginal deodorants,

the chemicals in those products can disrupt the vagina's

pH balance and can cause infections and foul odor.

What you will need to do is mix 3-4 drops of oil in water and use to rinse the vaginal area. Another way is to mix 2-3 drops of the oil and a small amount of olive oil,dip a tampon in the mixture and insert the tampon. Leave it in for at least an hour.
